End of Support for Taegis Endpoint Agent and Upgrade Path to Sophos Endpoint Agent 🔗

Sophos is committed to delivering advanced cybersecurity solutions that evolve with the threat landscape and the needs of our customers. As part of this commitment, we are announcing the formal end of support for the Taegis Endpoint Agent (Taegis Agent), effective July 31, 2027. For pre-approved customers in Japan only, the end of support for the Taegis Endpoint Agent (Taegis Agent) is effective July 31, 2028.

After this date, the Taegis Agent will no longer receive updates, patches, or technical support. Customers currently utilizing the Taegis Agent are advised to begin preparations to upgrade to Sophos Endpoint, running in either:

  • Detection Only mode to run alongside third-party endpoint protection products
  • Detection and Protection mode that includes the full Sophos Endpoint protection product

Sophos Endpoint is now automatically included in all Taegis XDR and MDR subscriptions. Taegis remains an open platform, with Sophos Endpoint as a new native integration option, allowing you to continue deploying the endpoint protection solution of your choice.

The Sophos Endpoint Agent provides enhanced protection and performance, including:

  • Advanced threat detection and prevention across Windows, Linux, and macOS
  • Seamless integration with Taegis XDR for improved telemetry and response
  • Faster alerting and higher fidelity detections
  • Ongoing support and regular security updates

To ensure a smooth and successful upgrade, Sophos has made available a comprehensive set of resources, including:

  • Step-by-step upgrade guides tailored to various environments
  • Technical support from Sophos experts
  • Training materials and documentation to assist with deployment and configuration

Customers are encouraged to initiate the upgrade process well in advance of the July 31, 2027, deadline to maintain uninterrupted protection and platform compatibility.

For pre-approved customers in Japan only, the following caveats and limitations apply between August 1, 2027 to July 31, 2028:

  • No new feature development will be undertaken. This includes—but is not limited to—fileless attack detection, in-memory process inspection, enhancements to Proxy PAC file support, and expanded operating system coverage beyond current deployments.
  • Support limitations will apply during the final year (August 1, 2027 to July 31, 2028). During this period, we will only address critical security vulnerabilities or CVE-designated critical bugs. Support tickets will be answered, but we will not provide RCAs, hotfixes, or other updates unless a critical security issue is identified.
  • Customer guidance will consistently recommend migration to Sophos Endpoint as the preferred solution and standard response to support inquiries.
